Stanley Cup Final: Joonas Donskoi Wins Game 3 For San Jose Sharks In OT

The San Jose Sharks turned the Stanley Cup Final into a series with one quick shot from Joonas Donski in the first overtime frame of Game 3.

Don’t hand the Pittsburgh Penguins the Stanley Cup just yet.

After an exhilarating third period and a tension-filled opening portion of overtime, San Jose Sharks right winger Joonas Donskoi found daylight against Pens goalie Matt Murray and scored the game winning goal at the 12:18 mark of the extra frame.

Donskoi’s tally marks the first Stanley Cup Final victory for the San Jose franchise, as well as ending their previously win-less overtime streak in these NHL playoffs.

The series now currently stands at a 2-1 advantage for the Pittsburgh Penguins, with a game remaining at the SAP Center in San Jose before the proceedings head back east.
