New York Knicks superstar Carmelo Anthony spoke after the game about how shocked he was that a little one came to hug him.

How could you not be shocked?

Everybody in attendance and watching through their television sets were shocked when they saw a young one stagger onto the court to meet Carmelo Anthony with a hug in the New York Knicks 99-91 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans (video above).

Melo, was one of those who were “shocked,” according to the Associated Press.

“It was a little kid. I was shocked, Anthony said following the game. I didn’t really know who was it until I actually looked over and saw that it was a kid.”

“I think it was because he was a little kid, they just let him go,” Anthony said. “Definitely a security issue though, for sure.”

When it comes right down to it, the kid coming onto the court means absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things. In fact, it was probably the highlight of what was a ho-hum game between two dreadful teams heading nowhere this season.

Melo can at least be thankful that this little one provided some love in 2015-16, for we all know Phil Jackson didn’t
