New York Knicks @ New Orleans Pelicans: Preview, Tweets, News

Tonight’s game in New Orleans will be round two for the New York Knicks and Pelicans, and Porinzgis and Davis.

New York Knicks (30-44)
New Orleans Pelicans (26-46)
NBA, Today, 8:00 PM on MSG, Full Preview
Smoothie King Center, New Orleans, LA

Tonight is the second of two meetings between the New York Knicks and the New Orleans Pelicans, with the first being an early-season Knicks’ win. Tonight also would’ve marked the second matchup of two great young big men, Anthony Davis and Kristaps Porzingis – except Davis will miss the remainder of the season after being shut down by a knee injury.

Davis blew the rookie away in game one, dropping 36 points and grabbing 11 rebounds to go along with 4 blocks. In just his 11th career NBA game, Porzingis couldn’t find his shot (4/15 FGs) and scored just 10 points. It’s been months since then, however, and Porzingis has grown up.

While the rookie struggled to find his footing, Davis had another All-Star season amidst incredible team disappointment. After reaching the playoffs last season, the expectations were high in New Orleans but instead they come into tonight at 20 games under-.500 facing huge off-season decisions. Injuries have been an incredible part of their struggles as the Pels had just nine players available on Saturday.

Before Karl Anthony-Towns completely ran away with the Rookie of the Year Award, Porzingis was in competition with the Kentucky product. With the Knicks’ season spinning out of control, and a clueless head coach unfortunately Porzingis isn’t getting the attention he deserves. Hopefully that changes next season.

How many Knicks’ fans have been doomed by those words?
