While squaring off against his buddy LeBron James, New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony does the laziest thing on defense.

What in the world is he doing out there?

For all the good Carmelo Anthony did this year for the New York Knicks, his lazy attitude for defense still lives on.

While playing his good buddy LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers at Madison Square Garden on Saturday night, Melo and Jerian Grant were stuck in one giant mismatch of a switch. The Cavs recognized it and threw the ball into LeBron with the much smaller Grant on him.

As a defender, you’re taught to do the exact opposite Melo does in the above video.

Instead of committing hard to the double-team or staying “ball-you-man,” Melo lazily half-commits and leaves Mo Williams at the top of the key to take a ridiculously uncontested three.

Just simply inexcusable, no matter how little the game means.
