When LeBron James and his Cleveland Cavaliers visit friend Carmelo Anthony and the New York Knicksit’s always about more than just that one game.

It’s also a matchup of two teams on complete opposite ends of the spectrum

Tonight’s storyline is James’ recent comments to Bleacher Report’s Howard Beck about his future, more specifically his playing future with Anthony, Chris Paul, and Dwyane Wade.

In the latest of James’ recent strange moves that has made many question his commitment to the Cavs, he stated that he would like to form a super team with his three close friends and chase a ring.

“I really hope that, before our career is over, we can all play together, at least one, maybe one or two seasons—me, Melo, D-Wade, CP—we can get a year in. I would actually take a pay cut to do that.”

When James plays at Madison Square Garden, like most of the NBA’s All-time greats, he lights up the stage at the World’s Most Famous Arena.

In 21 games at the Garden, he’s averaging 28.6 points, 6.8 assists, and 6.7 rebounds on a slash line of .495/.379/.698. However, as great as James has been, tonight will be about something more than just him.

With the trade rumors surrounding Anthony, and the clout that we all know James has within the Cavs organization, these two superstars could be playing together as soon as next season.
