The New York Knicks are in Washington to take on All-Star point guard John Wall and the Wizards as both teams cling to playoff hopes.

The New York Knicks wrapped up their West Coast road trip with a humiliating 36-point loss to the Golden State Warriors. The tail end of their season has been more about off the court drama than actual basketball. Tonight they visit the Washington Wizards, a team that’s been no stranger to disappointments.
Despite another All-Star season from point guard John Wall, the Wizards are outside of the playoff race due to injury problems with Bradley Beal. Beal was expected to take the next step this season but multiple injuries have kept him sidelined. The shooting guard has been held to 43 games this season and may not play tonight.
As for the visitors, as usual all the attention will be on Carmelo Anthony. Every time he speaks to the media about his future his loyalty seems to waver more and more. The superstar who just two weeks ago spoke about wanting to be a recruiter for free agents, now seems to have completely flipped a switch.
But at least Jose Calderon is ready to go tonight, and Sasha Vujacic will be starting with him. Arron Afflalo will continue to come off the bench as part of Kurt Rambis’ new experiment.
