  • Washington Wizards 99 (33-35)
  • New York Knicks 89 (28-41)
  • NBA, Final, Full Box Score
  • Verizon Center, Washington, DC

Tonight started out so promising for the New York Knicks.

Carmelo Anthony was hitting on all cylinders, shooting 4-of-7 in the first quarter for nine points, helping his team out to a first quarter lead, 29-20. They kept up that pace to end the first half ahead by ten, 53-43, and everything looked good. That’s the thing about the Knicks, you can never expect things to go well.

The Wizards busted things open in the third quarter on a 14-0 run led by 10 combined points from John Wall and Bradley Beal.

Anthony fell apart after his impressive first quarter, shooting 3 of 14 for the rest of the game with just 11 points. The Wizards switched Markieff Morris onto Anthony and he was locked down. Anthony’s poor shooting spoiled Kristaps Porzingis‘ efficient night, going 7-of-14, 2-of-3 from down town for 20 points.

John Wall had another incredible game against the Knicks, playing 39 minutes, scoring 24 points, and dishing out 10 assists.

You would think this team would learn, they need to do something different against the All-Star point guard, but apparently not.
