New York Knicks @ Los Angeles Lakers: Carmelo Anthony & Kobe Bryant One Last Time

Sunday night will feature the last time Los Angeles Lakers great Kobe Bryant will ever square off against the New York Knicks.

  • New York Knicks (27-40)
  • Los Angeles Lakers (14-52)
  • NBA, Today, 9:30 PM on MSG, TWSN
  • Staples Center, Los Angeles, California

There’s a very real harsh truth about this game tonight between the New York Knicks and Los Angeles Lakers. The truth that is revealed once the Kobe Bryant nonsense is stripped away.

This game features two terrible NBA teams.

The 27-win Knicks and 14-win Lakers square off at the Staples Center with eyes on it for one reason, and one reason only: This will be the last time Kobe takes on Carmelo Anthony and the Knickerbockers.

Another exciting aspect to the game for Bryant will be that Phil Jackson, his former coach, will be in attendance, via Associated Press:

“Obviously I know what they are going to be running,” Bryant joked in reference to the Knicks’ triangle offense used by interim coach Kurt Rambis, who played for and coached the Lakers.

“I’ll probably help Carmelo out and tell him where to go in certain spots on the floor.”

It’s all fun and games because both teams are completely dreadful.

Tip-off will come your way on the east coast at 9:30.
