Score a goal, win a dog?
That’s the story for one lucky girl, who on her birthday, displayed a sign Monday night at Nationwide Arena, a game between the Montreal Canadiens and Columbus Blue Jackets saying:
“Dad said if 13 scores on my birthday we get a dog.”

No. 13 is winger Cam Atkinson, and not only did he deliver on his end, he had a party of his own, netting three for his third-career hat trick, en route to Columbus’ 5-2 win over Montreal.
The cool part is when Atkinson caught wind of the story, he decided to buy the girl and her family a dog, as well as everything the dog, and family, will need for it.
A solid gesture on No. 13’s part.
