Pete Rose will be inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2016…the Cincinnati Reds’ Hall of Fame.

Pete Rose will have his induction day…in Cincinnati, the weekend of June 24-26 as the Reds host the San Diego Padres.

In December, baseball commissioner Rob Manfred opted to keep the ban on Rose for his gambling crimes as a player and manager.

Fans have long been pleading for the All-Time hits king to be inducted into Cooperstown, among those who have long forgiven his gambling scandal.

Said Cincinnati Reds CEO Bob Castellini:

“Inducting Pete Rose into the Reds Hall of Fame will be a defining moment in the 147-year history of this storied franchise.”

Regardless of the differing viewpoints on Rose, it seems more and more have begun accepting Rose back into the baseball fold. Last season he was honored during the All-Star game festivities in Cincinnati, and was also employed by FOX Sports 1 as their MLB analyst.

Pete Rose, a former 17-Time All-Star and 3-Time World Series champion, is No. 1 among baseball ranks with 4,256 hits.

Cooperstown or not, this is one giant step for Pete, and his fans.
