Like a throwback to the days of Ewing, Oakley and Mason, the New York Knicks decided to get physical against Kevin Love and the Cavs.

As Carmelo Anthony and the New York Knicks look to avenge their opening night loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers tonight, we watch in awe.

The main reason is due to the rookie sensation known as Kristaps Porzingis. Melo is the other reason, as he is absolutely sizzling, collecting 19 points thus far, a game high. Finally, it’s this one play which, perhaps, symbolizes a new day for the organization.

Check out how physical the defense becomes against Kevin Love on this sequence (video above). Derrick Williams fights back after getting bowled over, and Lou Amundson comes over to clean up a little business.

It brings many Knicks fans back to a better day when guys like Patrick Ewing, Charles Oakley and Anthony Mason were roaming the MSG floor.
