It’s early in the season, but second overall pick Jack Eichel is starting to put his stamp on his new team.

The hope of the Buffalo Sabres future has been making a positive impression among fans, teammates, and the organization with his play. And last night was no exception. Eichel showed tremendous effort and work ethic on a play in the second period.

The legendary Rick Jeanneret has the call of the rookie’s goal-scoring effort:

Eichel has two points, all goals, through his first three NHL games. Yes, that is more than number one overall pick, Connor McDavid. Through two games, he remains scoreless for the Edmonton Oilers.

Sure, it is just matter of time for the rookie Oiler to score. But, Eichel is taking the spotlight away.

Connor who?
