During the first batter of the game between the Tampa Bay Rays and the Baltimore Orioles on Monday we had a primetime matchup.

It was Rays starter Chris Archer pitted up against Orioles lead-off hitter Manny Machado. Both guys were named to the 2015 MLB All-Star team, and both are burgeoning superstars in baseball.

Somebody had to come out on top, right?

Well, Machado in essence did. He smacked an opposite field shot to right-center. It was good enough for a home run 99 percent of the time. Unfortunately for Machado, Rays center-fielder Kevin Kiermaier was roaming the outfield.

Watch the video above to check out how high Kiermaier gets in the air to absolutely rob Machado of a dinger.
