Tennessee Titans prized No. 2 overall pick, quarterback Marcus Mariota, struggled just a bit in his NFL preseaason debut.
For those who thought Oregon Ducks quarterback Marcus Mariota was a bit overvalued during the 2015 NFL Draft, your day is here.
With the Tennessee Titans playing in Atlanta against Falcons in Week 1 of the preseason, Mariota made his NFL debut. Though it didn’t turn out that well.
In his first series he threw an interception to linebacker Justin Durant, who promptly returned it inside the Titans’ 9-yard line. It wasn’t a normal interception, it came off a screen.
Then, on the next drive, Mariota was stripped by Jonathan Babineaux. Paul Worrilow scooped this one up and returned it for six.
Ken Whisenhunt will be praying for a better showing next week.
