Newly acquired swing-man, Arron Afflalo, is proclaiming that Carmelo Anthony is “very committed” to the New York Knicks.

Reports about Carmelo Anthony feeling “bamboozled” and “upset” about the drafting of Kristaps Porzingis came quicker than a Patriots fan rushing to the defense of Tom Brady.
Once NBA commissioner spit out the Latvian’s name, New York Knicks‘ fans not only booed their displeasure, they knew Melo would be a tad upset. After all, what 31-year old wants to go through a rebuilding process while an international project comes to the team as the No. 4 pick in the draft?
Then came the NBA Summer League, which changed everybody’s mind about the seven-footer’s 2015 abilities. Even Melo.

One of the Knicks offseason acquisitions, Arron Afflalo, doesn’t want to speak for Anthony, but he did have a few interesting comments about Melo’s current state of mind. Through a few recent conversations Afflalo had this to say, via Ian Begley of ESPN New York:
“He’s very committed. He seems very, very, very hungry to succeed,” Afflalo said on Wednesday after making an appearance at the New York Knicks’ Summer Basketball Camp at Pace University.
Afflalo also mentioned how Anthony was one of the main reasons he chose to come to New York.
“I know they value his opinion here in the organization,” said Afflalo, who has worked out with Anthony in New York and Las Vegas recently. “… He was a big part of me getting here.”
While there’s no question the development of Porzingis will be hot-button issue during the 2015-16 season, keeping tabs on Anthony’s temperament will be a close second.
For now it seems all’s right in the world.
