The Kansas City Royals have bolstered their starting staff with the announcement they’ve added Cincinnati Reds pitcher Johnny Cueto.

The fist salvo during the MLB trade deadline period has been fired, and it comes from the Kansas City Royals.

Needing another arm in the starting rotation, the Royals have added Cincinnati Reds ace Johnny Cueto, as per Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports.

Cueto has been nothing short of a workhorse in recent times with Cincy. He pitched 243.2 innings last year and has already compiled 130.2 in 2015.

It’s still unclear what will be shipped back to Cincy.
