New York Knicks rookie point guard Jerian Grant took to Derek Jeter’s ‘Player Tribune’ to express how ready he is for the big city.

It’s not often a first round pick from the NBA Draft gets overshadowed, but in the case of Notre Dame’s Jerian Grant, it’s unfolding just that way.

Selected No. 19 during the 2015 NBA Draft by the Washington Wizards, and immediately traded to the New York Knicks, Grant is playing in NBA Summer League action with many eyes on him.

Although, not as many eyes as a No. 19 pick usually has. That attention is going to No. 4 pick, Kristaps Porzingis.

Through three games in Summer League play Grant has 11.3 points, 5 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game in 28 minutes.

Not only is he showcasing the notion that he’s ready for pro-ball, but he expressed it in words on Derek Jeter’s The Player Tribune.

Via The Player Tribune:

I found out where I was going on draft night from a bunch of really hyped fans shouting my name and yelling, “Welcome to New York.”
