By now, everybody has seen the famous “Banana-Boat Photo” with the three NBA stars. Did you realize Carmelo Anthony joined them as well?

Somewhere right about now, Larry Bird just doesn’t understand.

Bird – a noted “son of a bitch” who would fight anybody and everybody en route to the top – had to almost literally be strangled into a friendship with Magic Johnson. He could never understand why any enemy of his would want to get close.

That’s why the most recent photos of NBA superstuds LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Paul on a Banana-Boat in the Bahamas should seem very foreign to him.

The man who wasn’t captured in that photo, but who did meet up with the trio, plays right here for the New York Knicks. Yes, Carmelo Anthony was also aboard the “Superstar Super-Vacation” with the trio.

I could imagine the ribbing Melo is taking for playing for the Knicks. And oh yeah, the jokes flying around about his new running-mate, Kristaps Porzingis.
