The New York Jets add some beef to their defensive line by selecting Nathan Shepherd out of Fort Hays State in the NFL Draft.

The New York Jets finally added some brutus beefcake to their defensive line with the addition of Nathan Shepherd out of Fort Hays State. Where?

They needed to add depth and starter potential to the defensive line with Muhammad Wilkerson’s departure this offseason to the Green Bay Packers. They do that with Shepherd who was a projected second-round pick and falls into the Jets’ lap.

He’s super raw (which is something you never want to hear) but has a high ceiling. He can also play inside and outside and can play in a 3-4 front as a four or five technique. His biggest moments came at the Senior Bowl against some of the best talent in all of college football.

It’s been a while since the New York Jets were on the clock, but I think you can forgive them because it seems like the team nabbed their franchise quarterback in Sam Darnold.

But Randy Lange of NewYorkJets.com dropped this interesting factoid that ended up proving true…

More details to come. Stay tuned.
