Two and a half weeks later, Odell Beckham Jr. finally breaks his silence following the wild-card round loss to the Green Bay Packers.
Many things have gone down since Odell Beckham Jr. and the New York Giants suffered defeat in the wild card round at the hands of the Green Bay Packers.
From Donald Trump becoming the 45th President of the United States to the Atlanta Falcons and New England Patriots winning the NFC and AFC championships respectively, the last two and a half weeks have been action packed.
For everyone except Odell Beckham Jr., that is.
The media was all over Odell Beckham and his fellow receivers for the partying they did on a yacht during the week of their wildcard matchup against the Green Bay Packers, and the distraction appeared to bother Beckham. Beckham was a non-factor in the playoff loss, dropping a pair of passes and accounting for only 28 yards receiving.
On top of the beating the Giants took at the hands of the Packers, OBJ was also believed to be the culprit behind a fist-shaped hole left behind in the visitor’s locker room wall at Lambeau Field.
Since then? Odell hasn’t had much to say.
According to Jenna Laine of ESPN, Odell Beckham finally broke his silence Thursday at Pro Bowl practice.
“I hate losing. Whether it’s marbles, spades, blackjack, whatever it is. You learn from it, you grow, you move on. That’s life. Life stuff happens. You get knocked down and you get back up. That’s just always been my mentality. I’m not really fazed by anything. It’s in the past. There’s nothing I can really do about it now. You learn from it and you move on.”
Not fazed by anything? Multiple incidents during the regular season (ask the kicking net) would prove otherwise. Hopefully, a smack-in-the-face type wakeup call and an early exit in the playoffs was truly a lesson learned and he does move on.
Beckham appeared to be in good spirits at the Pro Bowl Skills Showdown, a good sign he has moved on and is ready to get to work next season.
