After Sunday’s win against the Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants head coach Ben McAdoo responded to the deflating allegations his team made against the Pittsburgh Steelers a week ago.
On Sunday, Jay Glazer of Fox Sports reported that the Giants had alerted the NFL about the Steelers using under-inflated footballs in their game last week. The NFL fixed the situation by releasing a statement that all footballs were in compliance with the rules and the Giants didn’t make a formal complaint with the NFL. The Giants did measure the PSI in two footballs and both footballs had PIS’s under the league minimum of 12.5, according to Pro Football Talk.
“I don’t really know anything about it,” McAdoo said Sunday night via Art Stapleton of NorthJersey.com. “I just know that they said that they felt a little … I don’t know, the PSIs were a little low, so they checked them, and they just let me know they checked them.”
Steelers coach Mike Tomlin was asked about the Deflategate allegations after his team’s game against the Buffalo Bills.
“I heard about it but we have absolutely no response,” Tomlin said, via ProFootballTalk. We’ll cooperate fully with whatever New York wants to do in regards to that. We have absolutely nothing to hide. It’s a non-story for us.”
Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger made a joke about the Deflategate allegations after the game against the Bills, saying that they used Nerf balls.
Thankfully, the NFL doesn’t have to deal with another Deflategate scandal.
