Following a rash of injures to their defensive secondary, the New York Giants are set to sign cornerback Coty Sensabaugh.
Following multiple injuries to the position, the New York Giants are officially bringing in reinforcements to their defensive backs group. Per Jordan Raanan of ESPN, the team will sign veteran cornerback Coty Sensabaugh.
Sensabaugh was brought in by the Los Angeles Rams during the offseason to replace Janoris Jenkins, who was signed by the Giants. He played just three games into the three-year, $19 million deal he inked just a few months prior.
Sensabaugh had previously played four seasons with the Tennessee Titans before joining the Rams. During his five-year NFL career, he has racked up 179 total tackles, one sack, and two interceptions.
His two picks both came during his 2015 campaign with the Titans, when he also posted a career-high 60 tackles.
He will join a Giants secondary desperate for help. Starters Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, Eli Apple, Nat Berhe, and Darian Thompson have all been forced to miss time for the team. Meanwhile, backup Trevin Wade has been a huge letdown for New York in the absence of the first-teamers.
Wade followed up an abysmal game against the Minnesota Vikings by tripping in coverage during a game-sealing third-and-10 conversion by the Green Bay Packers.
Sensabaugh will face his former team, the Rams, in two weeks when New York takes on Los Angeles in London.
