With camp starting up for the New York Jets, we have the latest on the injury sustained to Quincy Enunwa.

What’s a Jets offseason without a little pain in the neck? All jokes aside, the Jets might have a problem on their hands.

The New York Jets announced on Twitter tonight that wide receiver Quincy Enunwa suffered a neck injury, and that they don’t know how severe it is.

Enunwa entered camp as the presumptive No. 1 wide receiver after the team cut both Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker. The 25-year-old is the most experienced wide receiver with the Jets after the offseason purge of most veteran players.

Enunwa had a breakout season last year, collecting 58 catches, 857 yards, and four touchdowns. Those totals account for 72.5 percent of his career catches, 73.1 percent of his career yards, and all of his career touchdowns.

If Enunwa is forced to miss a lot of time with this injury, it will create even more holes at the position. It’s hard to even say who would likely take over as the No. 1 receiver, as it’s unclear at this point who was going to be the No. 2 receiver. Charone Peake and Robby Anderson are the two most likely to take over the No. 1 role should Enunwa miss a significant amount of time as both saw important snaps last season, but that’s far from guaranteed.

Hopefully for the Jets sake, and more importantly Enunwa’s, this injury isn’t very serious.
