On this edition of New York Jets Gang Green Daily, first round selection Jamal Adams decides which number to wear and we look at Day 3.
The newest stud member of the New York Jets, safety Jamal Adams, wore No. 33 in college while attending LSU. He’s now announced he’ll carry that same number into the NFL, honoring his father, who wore the same number during his pro career, via 247 Sports.
Adams the elder played for the New York Giants. He was drafted No. 19 overall in the 1985 NFL draft as a running back.
On Day 2, Mike Maccagnan scooped up two more prospects while also trading back twice.
First, he selected another safety, Florida’s Marcus Maye in the second round. Then, with Ohio State center Pat Elflein available to him in the third round, instead of snagging the Nick Mangold replacement, he triggered a trade with the Minnesota Vikings and moved down to select Alabama WR ArDarius Stewart.
Mikey Mac is now loaded with six picks on Day 3, thanks to these two Day 2 transactions.
