The New York Jets have made their first big move of the 2017 offseason by extending guard Brian Winters four more seasons.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Mike Maccagnan has extended his starting right guard for four more seasons.
While the full details are not yet realized, Rapoport is reporting a net worth of about $7 million annually. If true, Mikey Mac and the Jets started the offseason on the right foot.
Winters, who ended the season on the IR, started 13 games for the Jets this past season. Since drafted in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft by John Idzik, Winters has played the part of solid offensive lineman.
He’s started 41 of a possible 51 NFL games (missing 13 via injury). Though it took a couple of seasons to see him come into his own, he’s a solid run-blocking guard at the professional level. His pass protection does leave something to be desired, but all in all, he’s a nice fourth or fifth starting offensive lineman in this league.
At a reported $7 million per season, Jets fans will take this one, smile, and run.
The guaranteed money — which is the most important factor of all — is still not known.
