The New York Jets are going through another crisis and this time off the field. Head coach Todd Bowles is in the hospital per source.

The New York Jets have been going through a tumultuous season. So much so that it has led to head coach Todd Bowles to having a heart attack.

That was the initial reports anyway, as Adam Schefter of ESPN later provided some intricate details to the story via his Facebook page:

“Bowles began throwing up, experienced chest pains, back pains, and after he was given medication, he couldn’t keep it down, which is when Jets officials became extremely concerned and took him to the hospital.”

The updated diagnosis is that doctors believe Bowles didn’t suffer a heart attack. They will have to continue to monitor the situation.

Bowles did not travel with the team to New England and it will be a gameday decision on whether he lands on the sideline against the Patriots. If Bowles is unable to coach, assistant head coach Mike Caldwell will assume head coaching duties.

Kickoff from Foxborough is set for 1 p.m. ET on Saturday.
