Tom Brady and the New England Patriots won’t have Rob Gronkowski this Sunday when they take on the hapless New York Jets.
It seems as though Todd Bowles and the New York Jets have received a bit of good news on this Wednesday, Thanksgiving eve.
ESPN’s Dianna Russini has reported that all-world tight end Rob Gronkowski won’t play this Sunday at MetLife Stadium.
Gronk was limited during Pats’ practice earlier on Wednesday.
It makes all the sense in the world. If you’re Bill Belichick, why in the world would you ever throw Gronk out there against the hapless 3-7 Jets? David Harris, Darrelle Revis, Calvin Pryor, and even rookie Darron Lee can’t guard anybody. Backups will do the job just fine and dandy.
Gronk has already missed three games during a season that has seen him haul in 22 balls for 540 yards and three scores.
The 8-2 Patriots, led by Tom Brady, are slated to kickoff against the Jets in New Jersey at 4:25 p.m. ET this Sunday.
