The NFL announced on Monday that the game between Tom Brady’s New England Patriots and the New York Jets from it’s prime-time spot to 4:25 p.m. ET.
The wait for the next New York Jets game just became a little shorter. With the Jets having their bye week this week, the Jets were scheduled to take on the New England Patriots on Sunday Night Football in Week 12.
The NFL announced on Monday that the scheduled 8:30 p.m. ET game between the New England Patriots and the New York Jets on Sunday November 27, will be moved from it’s prime-time spot to 4:25 p.m. ET.
Instead, the league has decided to put the Kansas City Chiefs game against the Denver Broncos into the prime-time spotlight, and rightfully so as both teams are shooting for a chance to win the AFC West.
The Chiefs currently sit in a tie for first with the Oakland Raiders sporting a 7-2 record, while the Broncos are a half a game behind both of them at 7-3. With the NFL screaming ratings drop, they want the most exciting match up of the week on Sunday night.
The Jets and Patriots are a rivalry game and usually attract a large audience, but with the Jets falling from grace this season and the Patriots having a two game division lead against the surprisingly surging Miami Dolphins, the NFL decided to take the matchup with more on the line.
So for those catching the bye week woes, don’t fret, your wait just got a little shorter before the Green and White take the field again. For now, gone are the days where the NFL considers the New York Jets a prime-time team worthy of playing in front of a national audience.
