Although the New Jersey Devils fell in overtime to the Florida Panthers, young Pavel Zacha struck late for his first NHL goal.

All in all, the night wasn’t terrific for the New Jersey Devils. A loss in the National Hockey League is still a loss. And their 4-3 overtime loss to Jaromir Jagr and the Florida Panthers on Thursday night will sting a bit.

However, considering how and who scored the Devils final goal in the game will brighten the team’s spirits.

With just under four minutes remaining in regulation and facing a one-goal deficit, young Pavel Zacha collected his first NHL goal after Beau Bennett made Keith Yandle miss while delivering a perfect pass (video above).

Vincent Trocheck tallied two goals in the game including the game-winner at the 4:16 mark of overtime.

Cory Schneider was superb all night long stopping 27-of-31 Panther shots.
