Stud wideout Brandon Marshall bails out Ryan Fitzpatrick on this play to give the New York Jets a 13-7 lead in Pittsburgh.
Despite the entire landscape of so-called NFL “experts” picking Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers to steamroll the New York Jets in Week 5, Ryan Fitzpatrick and company are hanging tough.
New York kicked a field goal to open the scoring in Pittsburgh, and then retook the lead with just over two minutes to go in the first half, courtesy of Brandon Marshall (video above).
B-Marsh bailed out his QB on this one. On an underthrown pass, Marshall completely owned cornerback Ross Cockrell after it slipped through his hands.
Although this play was all B-Marsh, Fitzpatrick is enjoying a solid day. He’s piled up 163 yards and that score on a very efficient 14-of-18 passing. Marshall already has 86 yards and that score on six grabs.
The issue for the Jets has, yet again, been their horrid pass coverage. Sammie Coates torched Marcus Williams for Pitt’s first TD of the game and Big Ben is finding life to be very easy on this splendid Sunday afternoon.
After a late TD by Pitt, the score now sits at 14-13 in favor of the Steelers.
