Just a day after the New York Jets announced their final 53-man squad, Mike Maccagnan adds the finishing touches to his practice squad.

The National Football League is, oftentimes, a sheer numbers game.

This numbers game rationalization is often used by general managers when cuts have to be made. The number of 53 is a clear and concise one for these fringe guys.

There’s also another number important to this collection. This number is 10, the amount of players who can earn a paycheck by signing on with a club’s practice squad.

A day after announcing his 53, Mike Maccagnan just announced his 10. Or, actually, in this case, the first seven to his possible number of 10 to his practice squad:

  • Myles White, WR
  • Craig Watts, G
  • Claude Pelon, DL
  • Freddie Bishop, LB
  • Victor Ochi, LB
  • Bryson Keeton, CB
  • Doug Middleton, S

The headliner of the group is wide receiver Myles White who was recently cut by the New York Giants. Craig Watts, Claude Pelon, Freddie Bishop, and Doug Middleton were all with the Jets during training camp.
