With the recent, plentiful losses in the secondary, the New York Giants have added safety Branon Meriweather to bolster the secondary.

In any event, it’s just preseason – the time in which no score matters. However, the one score that does count is total number of injuries and the Giants sure suffered a few of those.
Tom Coughlin’s squad lost safeties Mykkele Tompson to an achilles (season ending) and second-round highly-touted pick Landon Collons (MCL sprain). They’ve become quite thin at the safety spot.
Naturally general manager Jerry Reese got on the horn. The first name to be signed was 31-year old veteran Brandon Meriweather.
Meriweather has played 99 games in the NFL with three different squads (New England Patriots, Chicago Bears and Washington Redskins). He’s picked up 15 career interceptions and 292 tackles.
Last year with Washington, he started 10 games and piled up 36 tackles.
As I Redskins fan I can only offer my condolences. Meriweather, or Helmetweather as we called him here in the end, was absolutely incorrigible with his helmet first tackles. Every time he returned he´d get right back to that, get another suspension and be out another two weeks. And he never changed/learned/cared. It´s not like people weren´t talking to him about it in DC I mean but this was just the way he played. If you have half as many facepalm moments with this guy`s tackles in New York as I did with him in Washington you´ll regret this transfer in a hurry.
Shame though because the guy can really ball. Just not legally for some reason.
