Islanders welcoming fans back to Nassau Coliseum beginning March 18

Nassau Coliseum will open its doors to limited capacity for the first time this season.

On Wednesday afternoon the New York Islanders announced that a limited number of fans will be able to watch their games in-person beginning March 18.

This is to be the final season the New York Islanders play at their traditional home on Long Island before making the move to UBS Arena in Elmont.

The Islanders played at the Nassau Coliseum from 1972 to 2015 before moving to Brooklyn. But when they determined that the Barclays Center sucks for hockey the team split its home schedule between Barclays and a renovated Coliseum from 2018 to 2020.

Fans returned to Madison Square Garden for the first time on Tuesday to watch the Knicks.
