On the one-year anniversary of Aaron Judge’s scoreboard denting first long ball of 2017, Clint Frazier made one hell of a play to go towards earning a roster spot.

A day after the New York Yankees bested the Detroit Tigers 3-1 in their spring opener, the Yankees and rising star 23-year old Clint Frazier were in Bradenton, Florida to take on the Pittsburgh Pirates in the second game of their 208 Spring Training schedule.

Since there was no video broadcast available for the game this afternoon, any Yankees fan who wanted to take part in the game had to either listen to the radio broadcast (WFAN 660 AM) on the MLB At Bat app or follow Bryan Hoch on Twitter in order to know what was going on in the game.

Frazier, who is trying to make a Yankees squad that is overflowing with outfielders, made a phenomenal catch in a pivotal moment of the contest.

For a guy that has names like Aaron Judge, Brett Gardner, Giancarlo Stanton, Jacoby Ellsbury and Aaron Hicks firmly ahead of him on the depth chart, Frazier has got to do something big baller on a daily basis to have any shot at leaping over the players ahead of him.

Doing things like stealing bases; which he did in Friday’s exhibition home opener against Detroit, and making plays like this are definitely going to help turn the necessary heads. I just wish i could have seen it live. But as long as he continues to make these kinds of highlight-reel snags, we should have plenty of opportunities to see him in the very near future.

Atta boy, Red Thunder.
