The New York Yankees have announced their plan to extend the netting at Yankee Stadium for the 2018 season and beyond.

In response to a scary event which happened at Yankee Stadium a few weeks ago, The New York Yankees have announced plans to extend the protective netting this offseason.

On September 21, a two-year-old girl had unfortunately been struck by a foul ball off the bat of Todd Frazier and was forced to receive medical attention at the hospital.

Since the incident, many around baseball have been calling for protective netting to be mandated for all major league parks and the Yankees have been fairly quiet up until now.

The organization announced in a press release on Sunday that the netting at both Yankee Stadium and George M. Steinbrenner Field will be significantly expanded this offseason.

This will be great news to many who knew something had to be done to prevent incidents like the one from a couple of weeks ago from happening again.
