Frank Isola of The New York Daily News reports that New York Knicks‘ Carmelo Anthony hopes a deal to Houston can get done before Monday.

The New York Knicks open training camp next week and it appears that Carmelo Anthony will be in attendance. That doesn’t mean Anthony can’t hope for an 11th-hour trade to Houston.

Frank Isola of The New York Daily News reports that Anthony’s camp is “cautiously optimistic” about the possibility of the ten-time All-Star being moved to the Rockets before Monday. In other words, Melo doesn’t want to go to training camp with the Knicks. They’re “trying not to think” about the craziness that will be waiting for him if he arrives at camp.

The latest Anthony rumor, like any other, should probably be taken with a grain of salt. It’s hard to believe that the 33-year-old will be traded until he’s actually on a different team. Anthony wants to go to Houston, but the Knicks won’t cave on getting a more appealing trade. It doesn’t seem like this fight will end before Monday.
