New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony is reportedly watching EuroBasket 2017 and keeping in contact with his teammates who’re involved.

The worst kept secret in the NBA is that Carmelo Anthony wants a trade away from the New York Knicks. New York wants the ten-time All-Star out of town as well. That isn’t stopping Anthony from interacting with his Knicks teammates over the summer.

We knew he was playing pickup ball with guys like Tim Hardaway Jr. and Frank Ntilikina, but now we hear he’s in touch with the Euro Knicks too.

European basketball journalist David Pick reports that Melo is watching EuroBasket 2017 and “sending texts of encouragement” to teammates Kristaps Porzingis, Willy Hernangomez, and Mindaugas Kuzminskas.

Anthony and Porzingis have grown close over the last two seasons as Porzingis has repeatedly stated that he doesn’t want Anthony to be traded.

There were rumors that a large part of the unicorn’s feud with Phil Jackson and the rest of the franchise had to do with their treatment of Anthony.

The 33-year-old may not be with the Knicks for much longer, but that’s not stopping him from earning that best teammate award.
