Despite the New York Knicks not playing great basketball as of late, New York Yankees legend Mariano Rivera still made an appearance in the crowd on Thursday night.

The New York Knicks faced off against the Chicago Bulls on Thursday night at Madison Square Garden, which caused former New York Yankees closer Mariano Rivera to make an appearance.

The all-time saves leader joined former NBA star Allen Iverson as the special celebrity guests for New York’s Thursday night matchup against Chicago.

Fortunately for the Knicks, they were able to hop off their recent losing skid and defeat Chicago by a score of 104-89, maybe it was the magic of having “Mo” on the sidelines that helped propel them to victory.

The last time New Yorkers saw Rivera at a sporting event was in December when he made an appearance at MetLife stadium prior to when the New York Giants took on the Dallas Cowboys.

Nevertheless, it’s great to see the Panama-born star still supporting the teams from the city where he spent his entire major league career, New York.
