New York Rangers young forward J.T. Miller puts the Blueshirts up 3-2 in Colorado thanks to this wicked slap shot.

What a wicked slap shot this one was.

With the New York Rangers and Colorado Avalanche all tied up on New Year’s Eve, young J.T. Miller decided to throw himself on SportsCenter in epic fashion.

Pouncing on an Avalanche turnover, Miller took the puck and skated down the left side. He then blasted one from far out at a bad angle.

It beat Calvin Pickard high to the glove side (video above).

4:50 later, Chris Kreider added his third goal of the contest, marking the second-straight game the Blueshirts see one of their own tally a hat trick (Matt Puempel in Arizona).

The power play has continued to surge as, through two periods, New York has added two more goals with the man advantage.

After two periods of play, New York leads Colorado 4-2 with Henrik Lundqvist back in net.
