It was a bleak start for the Nets, and they totaled just 46 points at the half. Toronto took advantage of the lax defense and hung 64 on Brooklyn.
The second half was a bit better regarding performance, but it was too little too late. To draw some positives, the Nets looked energized coming out of the locker room and outscored Toronto over the final 24 minutes. Still, the chances of a comeback were slim.
Without Brook Lopez, the offense routinely stagnated, despite Jeremy Lin‘s return to the starting lineup. Rondae Hollis-Jefferson was the team’s leading scorer with 19, and Spencer Dinwiddie and Lin had 14 and 12, respectively.
