Not even two players near the 30 point mark could save the Brooklyn Nets on this night.
Playing in California, a really late night for us east coasters, the Brooklyn Nets couldn’t handle the young Los Angeles Lakers, 125-118.
Brook Lopez led the way for Brooklyn with 30 points on 10-of-25 from the floor (4-11 from 3-point land). Bojan Bogdanovich was close behind with 28 points in total on 11-18 (2-5 from 3-point).
For the Lakers, point guard D’Angelo Russell poured in 32 points while collecting eight rebounds and four dimes. His seven 3-pointers ultimately doomed Kenny Atkinson’s squad. Timofey Mozgov scored 20 while Julius Randle 17.
A nice bright spot was Yogi Ferrell off the bench. The youngster contributed with 11 points. After leading by two points after one quarter, the Lakers outscored the Nets 29-22 in the second.
Next up for Brooklyn will be Russell Westbrook and the Thunder in Oklahoma City on Friday night.
