Brandon Pirri tallied two goals in helping the New York Rangers overcome a two-goal lead and slap around the Boston Bruins 5-2.

Before the Madison Square Garden crowd could even sit, it was 2-0 in favor of the Boston Bruins. Well, perhaps that’s a bit of an overstatement as Boston didn’t score its second goal until the 14:40 mark of the first period. But the first goal definitely holds true to that sentiment as David Pastrnak scored just 10 seconds into the game.

Henrik Lundqvist allowed, perhaps, the softest goal of his career to Austin Czarnik for the B’s second tally:

From that point on, however, it was all New York Rangers in the dominating comeback of a 5-2 victory.

Brandon Pirri scored twice including one snipe of a shot on the power-play that provided the Blueshirts with their first lead of the night late in the second period:

Kevin Hayes scored just prior to that on a bank shot:

And Rick Nash and young Jimmy Vesey combined on a beauty that stomped out the Bruins late game hopes:

After the shaky start, Lundqvist stopped 27 of the 29 shots he faced. On the other side, Zane McIntyre struggled mightily in only coming up with 26 saves on 31 total Rangers shots on goal.

The bright spot for the kid was that he showed the world what a real goalie mask tribute looks like:

Nash took home the Broadway hat after he contributed with a goal and an assist.

Next up for New York will be the Hurricanes in Carolina on Friday night.
