John Tavares and the New York Islanders suffered heartbreak on Wednesday night at Barclays Center in the form of Shea Weber.

With just 2:57 remaining in regulation, the former Nashville Predators all-star defenseman put one past Thomas Greiss to give his Montreal Canadiens their 13th point after the 3-2 victory.

Nick Leddy was the unfortunate man in the penalty box when the goal went down. He was called for a slashing penalty.

Tavares and Dennis Seidenberg were the goal scorers for the Isles. Greiss stopped 26 of the 29 shots he faced on the night. This marked his second straight start and third on the young season.

For the Habs, both Paul Byron and Phillip Danault scored prior to Weber’s game-winner.
