In the preseason opener for the Brooklyn Nets at Barclays Center on Thursday, new point guard Jeremy Lin suffered a rough moment.

Ouch. This isn’t the greatest way to start a new phase in a basketball career.

As seen above, one of Jeremy Lin’s first moments with the Brooklyn Nets wasn’t so hot.

With his team opening up the 2016-17 NBA preseason against the Detroit Pistons, Lin cruised down the middle of the paint for an uncontested two points. Unfortunately, the finger-roll like layup caught nothing but air (video above).

All wasn’t horrible for Lin on the night, though. With just a few minutes remaining in the game, Lin’s scored 21 points on 7-for-11 from the field. He nailed five 3-pointers and also contributed with three rebounds, one assist, and one steal in just 17 minutes.

He was, by far, the high scorer for the Nets (Joe Harris, 12 points).

The Nets are closing the game with a double-digit lead to get this brand-spanking new season started right.
