The Mets will look to sweep the Friday doubleheader against the Phillies after taking Game One in extra innings.

What an absolute thriller of a Game One during Friday’s Mets-Phillies doubleheader.

Down 1-0 in the bottom of the seventh inning (remember, it’s a seven-inning game), shortstop Francisco Lindor recorded a monstrous two-out hit to knock in the game-tying run (Luis Guillorme was on third).

Then in the eighth, reliever Seth Lugo allowed zero runs and struck out a trio of Philadelphia batters prior to Dom Smith’s game-winning RBI — Lindor was the runner on second to commence the bottom of the inning.

The Mets ultimately won the game 2-1. David Peterson takes the mound for New York in Game Two at 7:55 p.m. ET.
