Officially count Luis Severino in for October. Mark him as “ready” and schedule him for a postseason start. The kid looks golden.

The New York Yankees emphatic 8-3 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays on Sunday afternoon featured a dominant Severino. The 25-year-old righty fanned nine batters while relenting no runs on three hits and no walks in just five innings of work.

Brett Gardner, DJ LeMahieu and Aaron Judge all hit homers for the home team. Both LeMahieu and Judge collected two hits, tied for the team-high.

For the Jays, former Yankee Billy McKinney hit two home runs. His three runs batted in accounted for his team’s entire offensive output on the day.

New York will rest on Monday before heading to Tampa for a quick two-game set. First pitch on Wednesday night is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. ET.
