A New York Yankees-Mets minor-league brawl between Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and Syracuse and involving Tim Tebow breaks out.
Bronx vs. Queens? New York vs. Boston? New York vs. Philadelphia? The Red Sox vs. the Yankees? The Yankees vs. the Mets?
It’s all amateur hour compared to Scranton and Syracuse.
On Sunday, a baseball game broke out around a brawl during the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders 11-6 victory over the Syracuse Mets.
It all started when Yankees prospect Mike Ford smacked a home run in the seventh inning. Shortly thereafter, Mets reliever Arquimedes Caminero threw at Breyvic Valeras, prompting the former’s ejection and a benches-clearing situation.
Mets prospect Tim Tebow was involved if only to play the role of peacemaker.
According to Connor Foley of the Times-Tribune, former Washington Nationals big-leaguer Danny Espinosa was also ejected for talk directed in the RailRiders direction.
RailRiders’ Logan Morrison also found his way to an early shower.
Ford, Tyler Wade and Ryan McBroom all collected two hits apiece in the RailRiders 11-6 victory. The win improves the Yankees Triple-A club to 26-19 on the season while Syracuse falls to 24-24.
