The New York Yankees have officially made their first round of cuts on Wednesday, slicing the roster down to 60 employees.

The long walk to the showers has arrived.

It’s one thing to see manager Aaron Boone hop out of the dugout only to take the ball. It’s a completely different story when Brian Cashman calls your name.

Roster cuts have begun.

On Wednesday, the New York Yankees commenced roster cuts. By Wednesday evening, Cashman has sliced the roster to 60 players.

Notable cuts include starting pitchers Trevor Stephan, Domingo Acevedo, and reliever Brady Lail. Lail (2.1 IP, 2 ER) and Stephan (2 IP, 6 ER) are off to minor-league camp while Acevedo (0.2 IP, 5 ER) was optioned to Double-A Trenton.
