New York Mets starting pitcher Noah Syndergaard responds to the current trade rumors with an eventual spring training hug.
Noah Syndergaard is no dummy. As far as we know, his mythological features travel way past the attributes of raw physical ability.
After all, Thor is a smart dude, right?
Either way, he understands the current landscape of the hot stove season. Multiple reports of the New York Mets dangling the power-righty in baseball’s trade market have taken hold and there’s nothing he can do.
He’s an absolute beast on the mound. He just might be that extra piece needed to develop the everyday lineup—through no fault of his own.
Either way, Syndergaard has publicly responded to the possibility that he may not be pitching in New York this coming spring. More specifically, in Port St. Lucie, Florida in a couple months.
Zack Wheeler better watch his step. An emotional hug from Thor could result in a permanent stint on the DL—at least a 10-game stretch with bruising along the ribs.
The man is simply that damn strong.
Anthony DiComo of MLB.com won’t be receiving a mighty hug. For that, he can count his lucky stars.
As for his chances of finding himself with another employer soon, nobody knows. It will all depend on the return.
I’ve already made the case that trading Noah Syndergaard represents the New York Mets future path to glory, but it’ll be up to one of the other 29 ball clubs to make the return worth the idea’s while.
