New York Knicks‘ Kevin Knox continues to earn respect around the league. This time it’s from his peers in the NBA rookie survey.

The Kevin Knox hype keeps building. This time it’s his fellow rookies leading the charge with the results of the NBA rookie survey.

The New York Knicks swingman finished tied for third with Dallas Mavericks point guard Luka Doncic in Rookie of the Year prediction. He finished tied for second with Los Angeles Clippers guard Jerome Robinson in best career prediction.

Now it’s hard to imagine a group of rookies voting on something like this without using emotion. Bleacher Report’s Kyle Newport points out that since the survey began in 2007 rookies have picked the ROY winner correctly just twice: Kevin Durant and Blake Griffin.

There’s obviously a great deal of recency bias taken into account as well. Knox was one of the stars of the summer league as was Chicago Bulls big man Wendell Carter Jr. Carter finished first in best career.

That doesn’t mean Knicks fans shouldn’t be excited about their newest rookie getting even more love. Frank Ntilikina was drafted in 2017 without much fanfare. He didn’t play in summer league and thus didn’t receive a single vote in the rookie survey.
